vandalism on University Avenue

I wanted to let everyone know that last night (sometime after 7:30) someone was slashing tires on University Avenue. Our car had one tire slashed; our tenant's had 3; 2 cars at the Moss Creek Apartments had tires slashed. Those are the incidents I know of. Does anyone know of others? I have called the police but haven't heard back from them yet. I'm very saddened by this. We have lived in East Campus for 8 years (7 of them in our current home on University) and have never had anything like this happen before.

Yes I did talk to the police. They said they would do some "extra patrolling," but I'm not sure what that means. They told me they had also had calls about slashed tires in the 1500 block of University.

Hi Catherine, I have asked Barbara Hoppe (our city councilwoman) to set up a meeting for us to meet with the police chief on issues unique to East Campus. She also wants to attend the meeting. Would you and/your husband be interested in attending if it is at a time that you can? I certainly want to ask for better coverage, especially in the middle of the night.

My wife and I would like to attend. We operate The Gathering Place Bed & Breakfast for the University of Missouri. We have been plagued by recent fireworks and parties in the middle of the night. We have called the police on numerous occasions and they are trying to assist, but it seems like we are losing tje battle.
