Starting on Monday, October 26th and lasting through mid-week (weather permitting) the carpenters working on our new patient tower will be completing work on the mock-up panel. This process requires the use of powder actuated tools that tend to sound similar to small caliber gunshots when in use. In addition, metal chop saws will be in use during this time which also create significant noise.

Boone Hospital Center will usher in the next era of excellent patient care with a groundbreaking ceremony for the new patient tower on Tuesday, May 12, at 11 a.m.

The patient tower and William Street parking garage project is the largest expansion in Boone Hospital Center’s history. Tuesday’s event marks the completion of the 940-space garage and the ceremonial start of the patient tower.

In order to build the new patient tower, Boone Hospital Center will be moving the current main entrance to the south side of the hospital and the Center for Advanced Medicine. These changes will be clearly marked with additional signage, and extra staff will be available to help patients and visitors find their destination.

On Saturday, October 18 contractors will be removing trees along William Street. The trees and landscaping will be replaced when the William Street Improvement project takes place.

There will also be a concrete pour on the Bass Street side of the parking garage.

Contractors will be pouring concrete for deck Number 9 on Tuesday morning starting at 5:00 AM. There will be several concrete trucks working off of Bass Street.

There are a total of 23 large deck pours. Deck pour Number 9 will be approximately 390 yards of concrete. The pour will
approximately 10:00 AM. There will be traffic control to keep vehicles moving.
